Information for Collectors
A collector can be a private, non-profit operation or a municipality that agrees to collect designated WEEE materials on behalf of the OES. Collectors are eligible to receive an incentive to sort and prepare materials for transport according to OES requirements.
To qualify to be an OES-approved collector, the collection site must meet the operational standard for collectors, and accept some, if not all, designated WEEE materials without excluding any brands.
OES provides promotion and education materials, packaging materials and arranges for pick-up of collected WEEE. All approved collection sites that are open to the public are listed on www.dowhatyoucan.ca; an interactive website that helps the public find OES-approved collection sites around the province.
The OES program has different requirements for non-municipal and municipal collection sites. Please print the checklist at right that applies to your facility to ensure that you can meet the requirements, and then proceed to complete your registration form.
