Information for Recyclers & Processors
Under the new Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment (WEEE) program, there are opportunities for recyclers and primary processors to partner with Ontario Electronic Stewardship (OES) in the waste diversion plan for computers, televisions and other electronics.
Under the program, collected WEEE will be consolidated in shipments and directed from regional consolidation centres to OES approved primary WEEE processors.
In order to ensure the highest level of performance and compliance in the handling of these products, OES has established formal standards, including the Electronics Recycling Standard (ERS) and the WEEE Reuse and Refurbishment Standard. These standards are based on the principles consistent with the Waste Diversion Act (WDA) as well as with other local, provincial and national regulations and international obligations.
In order to meet the Minister of the Environment’s requirements for the program, only approved primary processors who meet the OES Recycling Standard will be selected and have the opportunity to bid on contracts through the OES allocation process.
If you would like to be a partner with Ontario Electronic Stewardship in protecting the environment you must register with OES and meet specific criteria before being approved under the WEEE Program.
The following processors have been approved by the OES Board of Directors as per the Electronics Recycling Standard.
- ADL Process Inc.
- Artex Environmental

- FCM Recycling Inc.
