January 1, 2021Starting January 1, 2021, Electronic and Electrical Equipment (EEE) regulation comes into effect as directed by Ontario’s Minister of the Environment, Conservation and Parks (MECP). The recovery, recycling and reuse of end-of life electronics, in Ontario has transitioned to the individual producer responsibility regulatory framework outlined in the Resource Recovery and Circular Economy Act, 2016. The Resource Productivity and Recovery Authority (RPRA) is the regulator established by the Ontario government to enforce the new resource recovery requirements for electronics recycling. The new electronics recycling regulations in Ontario are now available and will come into effect on January 1st, 2021. Ontario Electronic Stewardship (OES) program will cease operation as of December 31st, 2020. Until the program ceases operation, OES is pleased to provide safe, secure recycling for all Ontarians.
